Old 1920S Magnavox R2 Radio Horn Speaker Field Coil

I do not accept paypal. This auction is for a beautiful example of a magnavox telemegafone type r2 model b radio horn speaker. This was their top of the line model with a solid mahogony base, nickel plated trim and an etxra large cygnet horn.

The outside diameter of the bell is 17.75'' and the total height is 30.5'' htis horn really stands out from the run of the mill horns made by atwater kent, rca etc. I have been displaying it for some time and everyone who sees it is immediately drawn ot it. Not only is it much larger than most other horns, it is also built to a much higher standard. This was not a cheap consumer grade product made for the masses. It was a very expensive piece of equipment that you would have found only in the wealthier households. One of my favorite features of the horn is the exposed knife switch on the base to turn it off and on. The condition is excellent and completely original. The horn bell and neck are beautiful with very clean and fresh black textured paint.

There are a few scratches and chips which you can see clearly in the photos. The paint is completely original with on touch-ups. There are no dents or dings at all. Yes, the magnavox lion edcal is original and is a beautiful piece of artwork by itself.

The nickel plating on the driver shows soem wear but still displays nicely. The mahogony base is ni very good condition with no cracks or gouges. Most of the original paper label is still intact on the bottom. I have not tried to power the horn up or operate it but i have tested all of the coils with an ohm meter and they all have continuity.

The dc resistanec between the two front terminals marked input is 1.35 k ohms. I get a reading of 9.3 ohms dcr between the two rear terminals marked a bat.

I laso measured the dc resistance between the two terminals on top of the small round transformer and got a reading of 8.1 ohms. Please take a look at my other auctions.
