Grebe Prototype Cr 5Purchased from an arc ad about 18 years ago. Came from dayton, ohio. M. D. Us air force. Up for consideration is teh early version model cr 5 grebe regenerator radio. Licensed under the armstrong patent, this radio dates back to late 1920. This original rare version has a great factory finish, no cracks or chips on the hard rubber panel, dials are good with no wear, all controls work, wooden radio parts (variocoupler) look great. Tube ux 371 goes with the radio, but it is not the correct one.
Radio will requires a uv-301. There aer only a few examples know of this external tube version. This radio has an earlier date compared to the more common cr 5 released late 1921 and 1922. So if you collect early versions of grebe radio gear, this will probably be the last time you see one. The is a choice radio of any informed adn true radio historian. Take ownership of this cr 5!
