Antique 1907 Thomas Edison Phonograph Talking Machine

I od not accept paypal. This auction is for an edison standard model b phonograph, made around 1906 or 1907. The horn is a reproduction (made to the same specifications as the original) otherwise the machine is completely original with all original parts. The phonograph is in good working order.

It runs very well and has a nice strong spring that unwinds very smoothly with no slipping. It will play 3 cylinders with one winding.

The reproducer is in excellent condition with original mica and ti sounds very crisp and clear. I am including a very clean edison 2 minute cylinder record so you can play the machine sa soon as you receive it. If you want more records htey are very easy to find on ebay. Just do a key word search for edison 2 minute cylinder and you wlil find them for sale regularly. Cosmetically the phonograph is in ogod condition. It does show typical wear frmo age and use. The finish on the cabinet is worn on the sides and the gold pinstriping on the bedplate is worn. This is all very typical for a phonograph of this age. Personally i think that this sort of patina adds to the charm of the piece and gives it some character. There are on broken or damaged parts. The wooden cabinet is solid and all joints are tight. There is no peeling or damaged veneer. The mechanism has been properly ulbricated and the phonograph is ready to use and be enjoyed. With the lid in place, the wooden cabinet measures 11.25'' tall, 13'' wide and 9.5'' deep. The horn measures 14'' long and the outside diameter of the bell is 6 7/8'' although the horn is a replica it is very well made and is virtually identical to an original. The bell is solid brass. Packing and shipping as a collector i know how frustrating it can be to receive an item that has been damaged due to lazy or incompetent packing.
